Getting Started

Download the Node software from homepage. It is always recommended to download the latest version.

Note: The software must be installed on a PHP capable host. More information on this can be found below.

Copy the files to your domain hosting

There are four files in the version.zip file: node.php, node.js, talesmith.js, and talesmith.css.

If you have an existing website, you can copy the files into a new folder like social.

Load the URL in your browser

The node.php file must be loaded in your browser. Typically https://your-domain.com/node.php.

Or if you have used a folder https://your-domain.com/social/node.php.

Setup the server settings

Enter the details you want for the server. It is recommended that it is your name and title and profile image, but it is your node.

Posts and Connections

Click Connections on the left side. Paste this url into the connections box to gain your first connection, https://talesmith.studio/social/node.php

The post from talesmith will appear on your social page.

Now you are ready to post. Enter your fantastic post and click the post button.

Now what?

Since Talesmith Social is distributed we do not have a central database of posts. We do not control other people's data. So you need to get a friend on and connect to their node and/or checkout our Social Hub page on Talesmith, to find new connections.

You can submit your node to the Social Hub, from your settings page, or keep your self private forming your own network of friends.
